To connect via Bluetooth, a Bluetooth Communication Base is required. The Bluetooth Communication base works as the Bluetooth access point when an Ethernet cable is plugged into the port. The base be powered.
Bluetooth wireless signal can be impacted by the terminal’s operating environment.
1. Coverage may be impacted if Communication Base is located close to a radio communication obstacle.
2. The Communication Base requires to be close to a power outlet and preferably a Surge Protected Power Bar.
3. The Communication Base requires an Ethernet cable.
4. If more than one Communication Bases, maintain more than 6 metres between them.
5. Indoor usage between terminal and Bluetooth base is up to 30 meters away.
MOVE 5000 Terminal and Bluetooth Communication Base Set-up
1. Connect the power cord to the Bluetooth Base
2. Connect the Ethernet cable to the Bluetooth Base.
3. Place terminal on Bluetooth Base.
4. Battery icon, top right corner of terminal screen should display a lightning bolt about the battery in green circle. This shows that the Bluetooth Base is powered.
How to synchronize the Bluetooth Communication Base to the MOVE 5000 Terminal
Accessing from the Home Screen
1. Tap the COMS icon.

2. Tap the Bluetooth icon.
3. Select [1] Bluetooth, press On/Off to enable/disable Bluetooth mode.
4. If enabled, terminal displays “Bluetooth Enabled press enter”, press [ENTER].
5. Select [2] – New Base, the terminal needs to be docked on the base. If the terminal is not on the base, the terminal screen will display “Dock the terminal on the base”.
6. The terminal will synchronize with the base and display “Base Association Ok” if the base synchronization is successful.
Accessing from the Communications Menu via Admin Menu
1. At the home screen, press the Administrator [.,#*] key or tap ADMIN on Home Screen for the administrator menu.
2. Select [3] – Setup Menu
3. Key in the Administrator name and password, press [ENTER]
4. Press [2] – Communications
5. Press [5] – Bluetooth
6. Select [1] Bluetooth, press On/Off to enable/disable Bluetooth mode.
7. If enabled, terminal displays “Bluetooth Enabled press enter”, press [ENTER].
8. Select [2] – New Base, the terminal needs to be docked on the base. If the terminal is not on the base, the terminal screen will display “Dock the terminal on the base”.
9. The terminal will synchronize with the base and display “Base Association Ok” if the base synchronization is successful.
Note: Only one (1) Communication Base can be associated with a terminal at a time. You need to remove previous associated bases before adding a new one. See instructions below. |
